GRADUATES: As those being honored at this worship service, students will be the focus of attention and should therefore be as poised as possible; being on time, prepared, and having a good appearance are essential. Should students have any questions or concerns, they should contact their counselor as soon as possible so we can help make graduation an enjoyable and memorable experience for all. Please advise family and friends of your desire for a positive graduation experience including respecting our request by not bringing balloons or any kind of noisemaker into the Bren Center.

Doors to the Bren Center will open at 6:00 p.m.
- TICKETS: Each graduate will receive the number of tickets requested earlier in the school year to admit guests into The Bren Center; please note that the graduation service is a closed school event, so all guests must have a ticket for admission. Each student will initially be given no more than 20 tickets; additional tickets will be dispersed upon availability. Bren Center security will only accept tickets issued by the school for entry; copies will not be honored at the door. Senior students may pick up tickets from Mrs. Linda Burnett, Administrative Assistant to the Principal, in the Administration Office, beginning today. If you have a need for a handicapped seat, please contact Mrs. Linda Burnett @ linda.burnett@lhsoc.org by May 20. Handicapped seating is limited. DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 p.m. FOR GUESTS.
- DRESS: The school dress standards, as outlined in the Parent-Student Handbook, apply for the graduation rehearsal and service. Students’ dress should reflect the following values: modesty, message, safety, and distraction. In an effort to ensure a graduation service reflective of our school values and one that all can be proud of, we respectfully request that all students honor this expectation. Please note that any student out of dress code will not be permitted to participate in the service/ceremony. It is important that students have already tried on their robe with their shoes for appropriate fit. Graduation robes should also be wrinkle-free. Please be sure to arrive with all items of the graduation attire: wrinkle-free robe, graduation cap, tassel, and appropriate shoes.
o Girls are required to wear a dress (one that does not hang out from under the robe), and they should not wear shoes that may cause stumbling. Girls should also be prepared with bobby pins to help keep the cap securely in place.
o Boys must wear dress slacks (jeans are not permitted), a dress shirt, a TIE, dark socks, and dress shoes. Boys should also try on their caps ahead of time to ensure proper fit.
o Please note that the tassel worn on the cap should be on the right side until graduates are instructed to move it during the service.
o Students will be permitted to throw their caps into the air upon instruction during the ceremony, so it is important that each graduate has put his/her name inside the cap.
o Students may not carry any bags and/or purses into the graduation ceremony when the class enters the Bren Center for the graduation service. Preparation rooms may be used for storage of such items and will be locked during the service/ceremony.
- GUM: Students are not permitted to chew gum during the service/ceremony.
- DIPLOMAS: During the graduation service, students will only receive the folders for their diplomas. The actual diplomas will be distributed after the service provided the student is in good standing with the school. Diplomas will not be issued as a result of insufficient credits, graduation service disruption, uncollected library books, lockers left damaged or dirty, monies owed, or un-served detentions.
- PICTURES/VIDEOS: Personal picture taking should take place before the reporting time and after the graduation service/ceremony. Students will not be able to take pictures while preparing for the service in the preparation rooms. Lomeli Photography will capture all graduates receiving their diploma folder during the service. (click here for the Lomeli Form) Mr. Ryan Hall will be videotaping the service and copies will be available for purchase (click here for the video tape form). Please note that the photo and video order forms may be downloaded at www.lhsoc.org by visiting the “Parents” and “Graduation” links.

More Frequently Asked Questions:
The purpose of Grad-night is to give our children a safe, drug and alcohol free party to celebrate a huge milestone in their life. This is most likely the very last time they will see most of their classmates. The committee has been planning this event since May 2009 to make this an event they will cherish! Payment plans are still available. Contact Linda Chapman @lindachapman88@yahoo.com.
